Kano State has been named the overall best state at the 2024 National Agricultural Show held in Nasarawa State.
The state also secured second place in the fisheries value chain category at the just concluded national Agric show.
A statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Wednesday, revealed that the trophy was presented to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Danjuma Mahmud, during the 22nd State Executive Council Meeting in Kano.
Governor Yusuf commended the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources for its outstanding performance under Dr. Mahmud’s leadership.
He urged the ministry to sustain the momentum and called on other ministries to emulate their efforts in delivering excellence.
In a related development, Governor Yusuf received another award from TEENS MATA, a USAID-sponsored youth empowerment and adolescent health organization operating in Kano since 2019.
The organization recognized the governor for his notable achievements in the health sector across the state.
The TEENS MATA award was presented by the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf.
These recognitions underscore Governor Yusuf’s commitment to advancing Kano’s agricultural and health sectors, further solidifying the state’s reputation for excellence.
